The Training CentreFood handler training
Our starting library of food safety training videos covers handling, hygiene, allergens, temperatures and cleaning. A venue can add its own videos or link one from YouTube, and add quizzes that must be passed before the next video opens. The training register shows who has finished each video and when.
Standard 3.2.2A asks that each food handler has the skills and knowledge for their work before they start it, either through a course or through training given by the business. The register is the venue's own record of the training it gives.
Staff certificates
Food safety supervisor, RSA and first aid certificates are recorded against the person who holds them, with their expiry dates, and the certificate itself can be filed as a document. See Document & Record Storage.
Questions
Do food handlers need a certificate?
No. Standard 3.2.2A asks that food handlers have completed a food safety course or have skills and knowledge suited to their work, which training given by the business can provide. The food safety supervisor does need a certificate, issued within the last five years.
